What is ECM

Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is an umbrella term covering document management, records management, workflow, capture and scanning. ECM is primarily aimed at managing the life-cycle of information from initial creation all the way through archival and eventually disposal. ECM applications are delivered as an on-premise solution (installed on your network) or as a software as a service solution (SaaS) where information is stored in the cloud, or a hybrid solution composed of both on-premise and SaaS components.
